Cynosure’s state-of-the-art ICON laser is specifically designed to reduce the visible signs of aging and soften fine lines and wrinkles through the use of the 1540 Fractional Non-Ablative Handpiece.  Using the ICON 1540 laser allows for a more comfortable treatment with a rapid recovery, while you can typically return to normal activities with only several days of minimal redness and skin swelling.  The 1540 laser works by penetrating the dermis to create hundreds of tiny high-precision columns of thermal coagulation.  Then during the healing process, new collagen is formed thus improving skin texture and smoothing out fine lines, winkles, acne scars, stretch marks, and surgical scars.

The Cynosure ICON laser is an excellent device that can be used for permanent hair removal.  Using the MaxR Handpiece, the IPL wavelength of light energy directly targets the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding skin.  The result is smooth, hair-free skin.  At Mansfield Cosmetic Surgery Center, we specifically treat feminine areas of the face, underarms, arms, legs, and bikini areas.  Laser treatments for hair removal are virtually painless but will vary from patient to patient.   Typically, you will require 3-6 treatments for optimal results as each hair follicle grows at a different rate and must be specifically targeted at the right stage.  When an area is treated for hair removal, only a percentage of hair follicles are affected.  Following your treatment sessions, you can expect to see a gradual decrease in the thickness and coarseness of the hair and the amount of hair growth.

ICON 1064 Leg Vessel & Vein Removal and Dark Skin Hair Removal

The Cynosure Icon 1064+ handpiece emits highly controlled laser energy into areas of skin imperfection. After a few seconds, it increases the temperature within the abnormal blood vessel causing it to collapse and shrink. The laser-induced heat also boosts the production of collagen and elastin. As a result, the skin undergoes cell renewal process, replacing old skin cells with new healthy cells. Over time, the treated area becomes smoother, healthier, and free from unsightly veins.

In order to achieve permanent hair removal, the Cynosure Icon 1064+ handpiece directly targets hair follicles. Once absorbed by the skin, the laser energy is converted into heat energy which uniformly heats the structures of the hair follicle. By damaging these structures, the hair follicles in the area lose their ability to regrow hair. With additional treatments, the area becomes smoother and completely free from unwanted hair.
